Apple Upgrades MacBook Pro: Brings 8th Gen

In a surprise announcement, Apple announced upgrades to MacBook Pro models with faster performance and a new set of advanced features to make it the most advanced Mac notebook ever. The specs centric update will enhance the 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Pro models.

The 13-inch model will now feature eighth gen, quad-core i5, and i7 processors, which will provide two times faster performance. The 15-inch model has been enhanced by introducing eighth generation, six-core processor which will scale the performance up to 70%.

The 15-inch model will now have 32 GB DDR4 RAM and a larger battery making it a complete powerhouse. Storage capacities have also been doubled, from 2TB to 4TB to the 15-inch variant and 1TB to 2TB in the 13-inch variant.

Apart from performance enhancement, Apple has also fitted Pro models with True Tone technology which offers more natural viewing experience owing to sensors. The light sensors automatically adjust color temperature to make the color look closer to what it would look in real life. You can turn off the True Tone in Settings menu if you are not happy with the change.

T2 chips, which debuted in iMac Pro, are also a new addition to MacBook Pro. The new chips will now offer enhanced system security with support for secure boot and on-the-fly-encrypted storage. You can also activate Siri in new MacBook Pro models by saying “Hey Siri” just like your iPhone and iPad.

The updated MacBook Pro 13-inch model can be purchased for $1,799 and for the 15-inch model you would have to shell out $2,3999. Also, the 15-inch 2015 MacBook Pro model has been discontinued by Apple.

Pre-orders for newer MacBook Pro models have started, and the shipment can be expected as early as tomorrow.
